I’m a bit disappointed with this book and wish I’d spent my money on something else. This is definitely not a book for beginners, which I guess I didn’t realize. Also, it’s very small – the page size is only 6″x8″, which brings me to my next complaint. The author is from the UK, so the measurements are in metrics. They do translate it to U.S. measurements, but not consistently everywhere through the book. I suppose it’s fine for someone more advanced in ribbon embroidery who wants to take it to the next creative level as she explains how to actually paint the ribbons as well as backgrounds, but I won’t buy another book by this author as I just don’t want to deal with learning the metric system while learning a new craft as well. I would suggest that if she ever revises the edition to include a conversion chart for us lazy Americans!
