The stores that sell the embroidery thread usually have the color charts. You could take some thread with you to see if you can match.
Couldn’t find a color chart for DMC on their web site. However this site has the DMC color chart available for printing. I saved them in my picture folder for reference.
The site also has a substitution list for the threads.

It depends on the brand of floss. The two most common are Bates and DMC. The color charts will be on their web pages.
